NK Slaven Belupo has lost a legend today: Goran Žganac, a former player who scored the first goal in the qualifications for the Prva HNL. Žganac scored in the 30th minute of the second round of qualifications for the Prva liga in 1997, giving Slaven Belupo the lead against Cibalija. Slaven Belupo won the match 2:0 and secured a spot in the top tier of Croatian football. Žganac was a member of the legendary generation that fought for entry into the Prva HNL.
